Rev. Barbara Hubbard
Rev. Barbara Ann Jones Hubbard, the only child of the late, Mr. Maryland Jones, Sr. and Mrs. Sadie Jones, of Jacksonville, NC, is a Local Preacher at St. Julia African Methodist Episcopal Zion (AMEZ) Church where she has been a member her entire life. She graduated from Jacksonville Senior High School and furthered her education by attending NYU in New York City as well as Norfolk State University in Virginia majoring in Social Work.
Rev. Hubbard married into military life with her union to Mr. Fate Hubbard, Sr. This opened the door to travel the world several times and allowed her to share with those in which she came in contact. She ministered, nurtured and fostered many Armed Forces’ members and their families while away from home. She and her husband always insisted upon an “open door” policy to their home giving both military and civilians alike a home away from home whenever necessary or needed. If you ask how she opened her home to various strangers of eclectic backgrounds, she’d quickly reply, “Because that’s some mother’s child.” Rev. Hubbard became “mom” to the many “babies” (as she affectionately called them) and amassed “babies” worldwide.
Rev. Hubbard’s ministry focus is to do the Lord’s work by reaching His people through knowledge and the teaching of His Word. Her spiritual belief is that His Word can pierce and convert the heart of anyone, despite what the enemy has torn down. This woman of God has been endowed with exceptional belief and love for ministering.
Rev. Hubbard is retired. She is married to retired Sgt. Maj. Fate “Habu” Hubbard, Sr. . They have two children: Maryland (Tea) and Fate III (JR). She is the grandmother of Arrica and Nevaeh Hubbard.
